Raw Basswood Honey

  • Surprisingly crisp, delicate taste with warm herbal notes, reminiscent of green ripening fruit.
  • Pairs well with slices of fresh green apples and Asian pears. Delicious drizzled over fromage blanc, and added to herbal teas as an invigorating twist.
  • Remarkably unlike other varietals, with a lingering aftertaste as well-loved by those familiar to it, as unexpected by those first trying it.
  • Our raw honey is never heated warmer than a beehive, and gently strained but never filtered.
  • Handled carefully every step of the way from our hives to you, preserving all the natural vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and enzymes.

Stately basswood trees flower in early summer, offering an abundance of fragrant, yellow-white flowers. Exuberant bees appear in such great numbers for this floral banquet that the trees literally buzz as you pass by. Hence the basswood tree is affectionately known as the Bee Tree.

These delicate blooms yield a crisp, distinctive honey distilled from their nectar. The exquisitely refreshing character of this honey is so surprising that you may well exclaim out loud—to whomever happens to be nearby—that it’s like no other honey you’ve ever tasted.

Pure, raw honey just as the bees intended.
Never filtered or heated warmer than a beehive.

Our basswood honey comes from an excellent location here in Waupaca, Wisconsin. Unlike some beekeepers, we place our beehives out in nature, ensuring a pure, raw honey just as the bees intended it.

Bernadette & Kent, OwnersKent, owner and beekeeper, handles his bees’ honey from the moment it leaves their hives until it reaches you. By carefully extracting, bottling, and storing it on-site, he ensures you receive all the benefits and vital nutrients that his bees offer you… a naturally delicious, sweet treat.

Gently handled from hive to jar keeping a rich, fulfilling taste with all the nutritious benefits.

With every purchase, you support a family business for whom bees are not just a way of life, but a passion. By supporting our beekeeping, you ensure that we’re able to maintain a happy, healthy population of local pollinators, whose benefits to our world extend far beyond honey itself.
